What we repair
Walk-in cold storage covers a lot of ground — from a single walk-in fridge behind a gastropub kitchen to a multi-room cold and freezer setup serving a hotel kitchen brigade. We work on all of it.
Walk-in cold rooms
Single and multi-room walk-in cold rooms across hotels, restaurants, gastropubs, schools and food production. Compressor failures, fan motor faults, evaporator coil icing, door seal degradation, temperature drift — diagnosed and fixed on site wherever possible.
Walk-in freezer rooms
Walk-in freezers running at -18°C and below. Compressor and condenser failures, defrost cycle faults, evaporator pan heater issues, door heater failures, alarm system faults. F-Gas registered for refrigerant handling on every job.
Modular cold stores
Foster, Coldkit, Misa, Viessmann and other modular installs. Panel and seal repairs, condenser pack issues, controls and thermostat faults, lighting and door-frame repairs. Out-of-warranty service for manufacturer-fitted systems.
Blast chillers & blast freezers
Walk-in blast chillers and blast freezers used in food production and high-volume kitchens. Cycle failures, evaporator icing, controller faults, door heater issues. F-Gas regulated work for HFC and CO₂ systems.
Multi-compartment cold rooms
Combined cold-and-freezer walk-ins with shared plant. Pack rebalancing, cross-contamination diagnosis, individual zone fault isolation. Often the most complex jobs — we have the diagnostic kit and the experience to do them properly.
External and rooftop plant
Roof-mounted and outdoor condensing units serving walk-in cold stores. Working at height with appropriate access equipment. Storm-damage repairs, ingress protection, weatherproofing checks as part of every service visit.
How we work
A walk-in down is a stock-loss clock running. Here's what happens from the moment you call.
Same working-day attendance
Phone the office before 10am and an engineer is usually with you the same day. Service agreement holders are dispatched first with a defined SLA. Weekend emergency cover available.
F-Gas compliant diagnosis
Every engineer is F-Gas certified and Refcom registered. Leak detection, refrigerant recovery and recharge handled to the regulation. Full F-Gas paperwork issued for your records.
Fixed on the first visit where we can
Engineers carry common compressor, fan motor and contactor parts on the van. Major parts ordered the same day for next-day return where stock allows. We tell you up front what's possible.

Stop reacting, start preventing
Walk-in cold storage on a service agreement
The cold rooms that fail in the middle of service are the ones that haven't been touched all year. A planned service contract catches compressor wear, refrigerant loss, door-seal degradation and control faults before stock starts warming up.
Service agreement holders get priority dispatch with a defined SLA. Fixed annual cost, predictable budget line, kit that doesn't surprise you on a Friday night.
What an agreement includes
- Scheduled preventative maintenance visits
- F-Gas compliance checks and paperwork
- Priority dispatch with defined SLA
- Refrigerant leak testing
- Door seal, hinge and gasket inspection
- Condenser and evaporator coil cleaning
- Compliance records ready for EHO and auditors
Frequently asked questions
Walk-in cold room repairs — your questions
How quickly can you get an engineer to my walk-in cold room?
If you call before 10am most working days, we can usually get an engineer to you the same day. Service agreement holders are dispatched first with a defined SLA. Weekend emergency cover is available for service agreement clients. Engineers are based in SE Kent and cover all of Kent.
Do you carry refrigeration parts on the van?
Vans carry common compressor capacitors, fan motors, contactors, fuses, door seals and basic refrigerant. Major components like compressors, condenser packs and specialist controllers are typically ordered the same day for next-day return. We tell you up front what's a single-visit fix and what isn't.
Are your engineers F-Gas certified?
Yes. Every engineer is F-Gas certified and the company is Refcom registered. We handle refrigerant recovery, leak detection and recharge to regulation, and issue full F-Gas paperwork for your compliance records.
Can you handle the leak detection records EHO ask for?
Yes. F-Gas regulation requires periodic leak checks on systems with refrigerant charge above defined thresholds. We carry out the checks, log the results, and provide the paperwork that EHO inspectors and auditors look for. Service agreement holders get this built into their annual visits.
What does a walk-in cold room call-out cost?
Standard call-out attendance is chargeable unless the work is covered under a manufacturer warranty or your service agreement. We're transparent about labour rates and parts costs before any work goes ahead. Service agreement holders get pre-agreed rates and predictable annual costs.
Do you service manufacturer-installed cold rooms out of warranty?
Yes — Foster, Coldkit, Misa, Viessmann and other modular installs. Out-of-warranty service, panel and seal repairs, control swaps, condenser pack replacements. We're an independent service provider and can quote against manufacturer pricing.
Do you cover walk-in freezer rooms too?
Yes — walk-in freezer rooms running down to -25°C and below. Defrost cycle faults, evaporator pan heaters, door heaters and alarms are all routine work. We handle the refrigerant side under F-Gas regulation.
Can you set up a service agreement specifically for our cold storage?
Yes — service agreements can be scoped to specific equipment or to your full kitchen. For high-value cold storage, a dedicated agreement covering scheduled preventative visits, refrigerant compliance and priority dispatch makes commercial sense. Get in touch and we'll work out what fits.
