Why school kitchens need a different approach

School catering runs to a timetable that can’t slip

Lunch service runs from 12:00 to 13:30. There’s no rescheduling 400 pupils. School and college kitchens need reliable equipment, fast engineer response and engineers who understand how to work on-site in an educational environment.

Fixed service windows

School lunch service is the most time-constrained catering environment there is. A breakfast service failure or a lunchtime breakdown affects every pupil in the building. Fast response and first-time fixes aren’t a nice-to-have — they’re essential.

Site and safeguarding requirements

Working in a school requires awareness of safeguarding protocols, DBS requirements and correct site sign-in procedures. Our engineers understand educational site requirements and work within them without needing guidance.

Procurement and compliance

Local authority and academy trust procurement expects ISO certification, public liability cover and documented service records. Our triple-ISO certification, £5m PLI and ISO 9001-driven paperwork trail means we’re ready for any audit or framework requirement.
